My name is BenG, I have been tattooing for 14 years now. It all started with humble beginnings at the age of 15 years old. What began as an attempt to make money using my skills as an artist has became a career, what started out of my backpack often going from home to home in the neighborhood is now how i provide for my beautiful wife and four amazing children.

At the root I am self taught , learning the hard way without undergoing apprenticeships but earning my way up from the bottom. At 19 years old I began working in tattoo shops full time and learned an unmeasurable amount from the established artists I had a privilege of being around. By 21 years old I had signed a lease for my very own shop on a main street in the Bay Area California. After about 4 years of becoming established and renown withing my area gaining an extensive client base and reputation, it was un-avoidable the truest reason of my overnight success

 

You see before that, I had been an everyday alcoholic since about age 13, Eventually battled drug use, constant trouble with law enforcement and arrests, having moved out to live for my own at age 16 while getting expelled from high schools, needless to say life was rough. At about 20 years old I found myself at what seemed like a constant cycle of having nothing and going nowhere. It was in that place, where I Cried out to the LORD , and I knew He had heard. My confession was clear, I had no idea what to do or how to do it, but I gave Him full control to change my life for the reasons He has been calling me. Instantly the changes were seen where I was once cursed and every opportunity was closed to me, now they were open with favor everywhere I went. From getting an apartment, a great shop to work at, and even the first step in learning who he was.

A few months after my surrendering confession, I found my self in an ambulance helicopter ride being flown to the hospital after a should of been fatal accident on my motorcycle. I had lost control at 100mph while backroading mountain roads, crashing directly on to a tree, splitting my motorcycle into a thousand pieces, my gas tank, swingarm, front wheel, rear wheel, all scattered among the rocks and trees. I found my self in one piece on what seemed like a cushion of grass and leaves. About 3 days later while in the hospital with minor injuries, I was invited to a small Christian church; although I had believed in God , I had very little trust in what we call church, like many others out there that attempt to seek God in their own ways, I however gave it a chance, 6 days after the accident I found my self going into this small church where no one knew me. About 30 minutes into the service a man approached me and said" God wants to tell you something", he continued " He is telling me that you flew , I don't know where or when this happened but He wants you to know that when You flew, He had an Angel carry you to where you landed, God has brought you here today to begin your ministry". I was without words. later on he described to me the dreams he had received the night before he seen me where the Lord instructed him about me and showed him what happened to me, then when I arrived how the Lord pressed him towards me saying "that's him"

I slowly began to surrender my heart to the Lord and get to know Him, eventually truly repenting, being baptized in water and even in the Holy Spirit. My life has changed and is now in His hands every step. Truthfully, we can write a book of all the things we have seen him do in our lives, naturally, and even the unexplainable and supernatural.

After having the Shop for about 4 years, I took my family out to live on the road doing full time ministry traveling in and out the country, as well as nationwide, serving the poor, rejected, forgotten all around, and equipping the churches and ministers to go out of the four walls and reach their neighbor in the midst of hardship. I am now tattooing fully again, but also making it an effort to maintain ministry a key part of our lives locally and also abroad. I am extremely open with my faith in the one who has given me life and in whom my trust is in. I have seen dozens of clients in my line of work that have been a blessing to me,  and also I have been able to minister to them in their troubles and comfort them with the truth of God, even with the Gospel of Christ. Serving God has raised my purpose, integrity and value for every person I work with and even I feel blessed with greater skill, after the 3 years of fulltime ministry , I came back with way more detail and quality work its amazing how God truly honors those who Honors Him.
